 About Me

My name is Mary (aka Dragonflykawaii) and I’m a lifetime crafter - especially if it involves sewing and other fiber arts. I’m also an educator (20yrs middle school teaching) and now semi retired so that I can do more of the crafting that I have enjoyed so long as a hobby - clothes design and cosplay, along with knitting, crochet and quilting.

When I started collecting Nendoroids from the Touken Ranbu series and then discovered that they could be used as doll heads - the first thing I wanted to do was to then dress them up. And there were so many possibilities too…as their character sprites, daily casual clothes, even as the idols from the 2.5D Stage and Musical shows. And I had sewing experience from making my own clothes and costumes, so how hard could it be.

My first doll outfit was a mess and frustrating too - trying to sew a standard seam allowance, on a sewing machine on a garment that was less than 3 inches wide and 2 inches in length. And working from patterns that were in a language that I could not read too. But it was by trying and experimenting that I found methods that worked and that is what I would like to share with you.
